Especial com artistas que os álbuns vazaram antes do lançamento!

Começa com meu projeto favorito, Portishead com "The Rip", que vai lançar seu terceiro álbum depois de 11 anos. Segue pros suecos do Little Dragon com "Recommendation" e vai pra De Novo Dahl, grupo de Nashville com o hit "Shakedown".

E um bloco de house! Os franceses Mlle Caro & Franck Garcia com "I Don't Want" do álbum Pain Disappears que saiu pelo selo do Ben Watts (Everything But The Girl). Kelley Polar com "Entropy Reigns (In The Celestial City)" que saiu esse mês pelo Environ. Um pouco de electrorock com Fischerspooner e a faixa "The Best Revenge" lançada pela Kitsune!

Dai pros belgas do The Glimmers com a versão de "Physical" da Olivia Newton-John e o multi-instrumental francês Chris Joss com "I Want Freedom", outro otimo disco de 2008.

Um pouco de disco com os novos queridinhos de NY, Hercules & Love Affair com "True False, Fake Real" do álbum homonino, um dos melhores do ano! Super hit "Blind Mary" do Gnarls Barkley que tambem lança seu novo trabalho esse mês.

Os suecos The Tough Alliance com "Something Special" e MGMT com "Kids", a faixa que eu mais ouvi em 2008. E os australianos Muscles com "Ice Cream".

Neon Neon, projeto de Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) e Boom Bip, com "Dream Girls". Mais franceses: Sebastien Tellier, Mr. Ozo e Sebastian com "Chivers As A Female" da trilha do filme Steak que também foi dirigido pelo Quentin Dupieux (Mr. Oizo). E o alemão Siriusmo com "Girlsrock".

Pra terminar um bloco de clássicos de 1990 que marcaram minha geração. Happy Mondays com "Hallelujah" e Primal Scream com "Come Together".

Abrindo com The Bird and The Bee, projeto da vocalista Inara George. Bat For Lashes com "What's A Girl To Do?", um dos videos mais bacanas de 2007 e a sueca Lykke Li com "Little Bit" #video, hit do QG!

Animando tudo com "Euglama" do VHS or Beta e seguindo pro funk "Complicated" do Michael Fakesch (ex-Funkstorung). Alias, ouvi muito Fakesch ultimamente! Hit!
Supermayer (Superpitcher e Michael Mayer) relaxando com "The Art Of Letting Go", Kasper Bjorke com "Back & Spine" #video, outro ótimo clip.

Of Montreal com a surrealista "Gronlandic Edit" #video, "Anti-Anti (Treasure Fingers Remix)" do Snowden, um daqueles casos que o remix fica muito melhor que o original. Mas o #video é bacana.
Mais um dos meus favoritos do ano passado, Architecture In Helsinki com "Debbie", os suecos The Tough Alliance com o revival 80 de "First Class Riot" e "Starz In Their Eyes" do Just Jack, hit absoluto!!

Naive New Beaters com o hit de 2008 "Live Good" #video, Superthriller e seu super funk "Superthriller Motherfucker". Nova promessa da DFA diretamente de NY, Hercules & Love Affair trazendo seu disco-house "Blind" com vocais de Antony Hegarty (Antony & The Johnsons). Yay!

Sequência sueca começando com "No Comply" do Studio, seguido de "Warmer Climes" do Boat Club e "It Pays to Belong" do The Embassy. Três bandas de Gotemburgo que tem misturado esse clima meio balearic/chill out no rock.

Favoritas do mês de Abril, começando com as gatinhas do Au Revoir Simone, o classico Hands In The Dark numa nova versão e o rock alemão do Timtim.

Dai pro achado do ano, Chandra Oppenheim, que gravou seu primeiro e unico EP em 1980 quando tinha apenas 12 anos. Punk-rock de primeira!

E os franceses Charlotte Gainbourg e Poni Hoax, os suecos do Lo Fi Fnk com uma versão dos meus remixers favoritos do momento, The Teenagers, seguido de Crystal Castles e DJ Mehdi pra dar um clima new rave.

Dai começa a bagunça. Khan com a voz fabulosa da Julee Cruise, Mark Ronson regravando um classico dos Smiths, o deus Giorgio Moroder, Fluffy Target e Tomboy, que fez um dos melhores albuns do ano até agora.

Finalmente chega um programa sobre a disco aqui no seu podcast favorito! :)
Sempre que pensava nesse programa, eu acabava desistindo porque não sabia quais musicas do Larry eu iria deixar de fora.
Então essa edição do Monkey Show é dedicada ao mestre Larry Levan.
Pra quem não conhece, Larry é um dos "pais" da musica eletrônica moderna.
Suas produções e remixes foram a salvação da disco e a pedra fundamental pro começo da house e ate mesmo o techno (o Underground Resistance 001 tem vocal).
